To meet these standards, plastic safety bands now run inside the shade cells, connecting the top and bottom rails. On horizontal wood or faux wood blinds, the bands pass through routed holes in the slats. This keeps cords completely out of reach, providing smooth operation while ensuring child- and pet-safe functionality.
